Study: Women Love to Wear Red Dress at the Top of the Fertile Period
A recent study in Canada showed that women who were in the fertile period will tend to use a red shirt or pink sweater.
The study involved 124 women aged 18 to 47 years. They questioned the color of clothes that are worn and when their last menstrual experience. From the last question scientists account for the peak fertility of the respondents based on last menstrual cycle.
Result they are wearing red or pink are usually at the height of the fertile period than those wearing other colored clothing.
Previous research suggests that some types of animals will show when it was at its striking color of fertility, to attract the opposite s*x. But in humans have not found such behavior.
Recent studies means it could be early evidence that people also have the same behavior as in the animals. Yet researchers acknowledge need greater research held to come to that conclusion.
In many cultures, the color red has always been associated with love and passion. Several previous studies also showed that women who wear red more attractive to men.
However, the two researchers involved in the research – Jessica Tracy and Alec Beall of the University of British Columbia – admitted not knowing what the reasoning behind the selection of the red color. Further studies are needed to ascertain whether women want to look more attractive or s*xy by wearing a red dress.
The study was presented at a meeting knowledge Asosociation for Psychological Science, on 26 May. The research could also be read in the journal Psychological Science.
