Eating apples every day may lead to calm, happy and energetic
An old proverb says that “an apple a day will keep the doctor away“. Apparently the benefits of apples are consumed every day not only that. A recent study says that it can also improve your mental state.
A team from the department of psychology of the University of Otago in New Zealand asked 281 people to volunteer in their research. The volunteers were asked to complete a diary record of their diet for 21 days.
At the end of the study, volunteers were recorded consuming more fruits and vegetables, including apples, reported differences in their mood.
They feel more calm, happy and energetic. Meanwhile, volunteers who consumed junk food reported no changes in their mood.
Reported by Dailymail, Dr. Tamlin Conner said the head of research:
“On the days when people eat more fruits and vegetables, they reported feeling calmer, happier, and more energetic than usual.”
Upon further analysis, the study also found portions ideal for fruit and vegetable consumption is 7-8 servings per day or about 7-8 handheld.
With a portion of the effects so calm, happy and energized would look maximum. Positive mood it will feel the next day after eating the fruits and vegetables.
Dr. Conner added, this study shows the close relationship between the consumption of healthy food with a good mood. Although he also recognizes that to conclude further research is needed more in-depth.
